Actually nothing big deal la. Just that we managed to get the free tickets for the upcoming Assthrow Astro Talent Quest 2007 Finale. Very sanfu 1 you know? After suffocating in the crazy crowd for more almost 2 hours, finally we got our tickets. Just look at the crowd this noon:

The crowd in front of the GSC cinema.

The crowd in front of the stage.

For today's ticket redemption activity, there are only 4000 tickets up for grabs. Each person can only redeem 2 tickets, and that's if you have an Astro newspaper ad or if you have a Sibehsyok CyberShot camera. My mama and I managed to get a place in the queueing row which is quite near to the stage. Hehe... The organizer are very smart. They first distribute the numbers to the first 2000 persons who is eligible to obtain the ticket. This enable the organizer to ease off the crowd who are not eligible to obtain the ticket, and thus the ticket redeeming process will be more well organized and less chaotic. Although 1 person only be given 1 number, but somehow something fishy happened and we managed to get 1 more number, which means that we can redeem 6 tickets! Keke...

There were still a big crowd who cannot obtain the free entrance tickets to the finale show as the 2000 numberings were all distributed. But there will be another round of ticket redeeming activity sometime around next week, so that will be another chance for them who are interested in getting the show tickets.

Then, we`re entertained by the finalist from the ATQ 07. They sang a short verse of their choosen song and persuade audience to vote for them. Our favourite are contestant number 2 : Wayne 郑冰来 from Kuching, Sarawak. In our opinion, his voice is the best among the 5 finalist. Support him all the way. =)

The finalist

Finally, the much anticipated moment arrived : The Ticket Redeeming time. Although the crowd were already confirmed by the organizers that they will get the tickets for sure, but still they were pushing around *aiyoyo* to get the tickets. After some pushing exercise, finally, its our turn to get our tickets * woohooo*. Yay, we`re tru to the finals Yay, we finally going to the finale show !!!!!!

The tickets to the show

Anyway, the finale show is on the 11th of Aug 2007 at the Penang International Sports Arena. Anyone going there? =)

Dinner @ Dragon-I

When I knew that they opened an outlet at Queensbay Mall, I had this mix feeling of both excited and skeptical. Skeptical because after reading some blogs about them (both positive and negative statements from those bloggers), feel kinda scared to try. Excited cuz got new variety of food to eat mer...Hee hee...
Anyway, we went Dragon-i to have our dinner few weeks ago cuz I really kenot tahan the shop and just want to try it out. Haih...-.-

The kitchen of the restaurant is purposely located at the front corner of the restaurant, surrounded by transparent glass so that customers will be able to witness the skills of the cooks. The cooks were hired from various regions in China, each unique in their area of specialization.

As we stepped inside the restaurant, there were these 4 statues welcoming us.

The 4 statues.

The view of the entrance from inside.
Pictures on the wall.
The menu.
The culteries.

The seasoning.

We ordered 4 dishes on that day: Sze Chuan Spicy La Mian, Water Chestnut Minced Pork Rice, Plain Shang Hai La Mian and the famous Shang Hai small Dumpling. When we first eat the dishes, we were quite surprised that despite some negative comments from people, we found that the dishes are quite delicious actually. The taste of every dish is not too rich, which suits our preference. The soup of the Sze Chuan La Mian is quite special, with some grinded peanuts in it. As for the Shang Hai Small Dumpling, you have to be cautious when you're trying to take it with chopsticks. If the way you hold the dumpling with chopsticks is incorrect, the soup in the dumpling WILL FLOW OUT! Keke...

We really enjoyed the dinner. Quite satisfied with the taste of the dishes. Quite worth for a sub RM60 meal. Hehe...

Bon Odori

Last weekend, we went to Bon Odori festival at Esplanade after our dinner. Many people might know about Bon Odori, but do you know the real meaning behind the festival?

This is the story of Bon Odori:
Bon Odori originates from the story of Mokuren, a disciple of Shakyamuni, who saw a vision of his deceased mother in the Realm of Hungry Ghosts where she was indulging in her own selfishness. Greatly disturbed, he went to the Buddha and asked how he could release his mother from this realm. Buddha answered, "On July 15, provide a big feast for the past seven generations of dead." The disciple did this and, thus, saw his mother's release. He also began to see the true nature of her past unselfishness and the many sacrifices that she had made for him. The disciple, happy because of his mother's release and grateful for his mother's kindness, danced with joy. From this dance of joy comes Bon Odori or "Bon Dance", a time in which ancestors and their sacrifices are remembered and appreciated.

Anyway back to topic. The event on that day started at 6.30pm, but due to rain, we only step into the venue at around 8.30pm. At that time, the rain had stopped, but the field was still abit wet and we had to be very cautious when wakling around. The first thing that attract us was the center stage. It was well decorated with lightings, with a group of dancers performing Japansese traditional dance.

Then, we walked around and visit the stalls and booths there. The stalls there are minly food stalls, and surprisingly, we saw Canon and Maxis booth too. Hmm... Perhaps there are some potential customers too? Hehe... Then, we came to this booth, in which the gold fish catching activity was held.

At the time when we reached the booth, the gold fish already almost finished being caught, and left this kiddo above catching the remaining few gold fish. After 5 minutes.....

...

...

...

...

Still didn't manage to catch all the remaining gold fish. And finally the person in charge beh tong already, and he helped the kiddo to catch all the remaining fish. Keke...

Not long later, an announcement was made that the fireworks show will start earlier than scheduled due to the weather. We waited for some time, and finally the fireworks began! Whee.......

The firework lasted for around 10 minutes, and after the fireworks ended, we leave the venue, went to the mamak stall and have our supper, hehe....

Woofy took me , my mama and my cousin to Ipoh last weekend. It was an impromtu decision as it was made the moment I wake up.

Pirate Master

I watched this reality show called the "Pirate Master" last Tuesday which was their premier show on Astro channel 17 at 9pm. If you watched "Survivor" before, you`ll find that the concept are almost if not identical.

This is because, "Pirate Master" is a show created by Mark Burnett who is also the creator of the popular reality show "Survivor".

This show goes like this....

Each week, the contestants are divided into two crews, Black and Red, to hunt for the treasure indicated by the maps and clues obtained from the most recently opened compartment on the Chest of Zanzibar.

Both crews simultaneously go on expeditions and decipher clues along the way to find gold coins hidden around the island of Dominica. During the expedition, there is the potential for the currently leading crew (based on the trailing member of the team) to "sabotage" the other crew at a given point and slow them down in the hunt, such as by causing a net to fall to block passage along a river.

The first crew to successfully retrieve the treasure, even if another crew arrived and started searching first, wins the treasure, and indicates their victory by firing a pistol to let the other crew know that the expedition is over.

At the end of each episode, there is a Pirates' Court. Prior to this Court's proceedings, the Captain distributes letters, three of which contain a black ink blot also called as the black spot. The three contestants marked with a "black spot" are the ones nominated to be voted off and cannot take part in the voting process that follows; the Captain and his officers are not allowed to vote either. The remaining crew members then cast their votes by impaling their ballots on an upturned dagger. The contestant with the most votes is then "cut adrift" also known as being voted off.

~~The info above are taken at here~~ To find out more bout the show, pay them a visit. Hee hee.

Overall, its not bad for the 1st show. Kinda interesting. Im not sure bout the repeat time but I do know that the show aired every Tuesday at 9pm at AXN channel 17. Gees, makes me miss those days where I followed the "Survivor" weekly. Its my favourite show during those times.

Foods we love

Not long ago we got tagged by ahboy the handsome miniie pinnie. Wah, he loves CHAR SIEW worrrr. Hmm..... Actually hor, we love foods from Kim Gary. It's nice, plus the price is quite affordable. We go there very often, sometimes for lunch, sometimes for tea time, and sometimes for dinner. We frequent there until those staffs there know us, and often refer us as "VIP", hehehe.... At times, we have special privilleges, and we don't need to wait for too long although there's a long queue, keke.... Jealous leh?

Among so many kinds of foods in Kim Gary, our favourite is the Cheese Baked Rice. I don't know why but somehow, everytime we go there, this Cheese Baked Rice will be in our order list. We just love the taste and the thick layer of the cheese on top of the rice. We're cheese lover, thus, for us, the thicker the cheese layer the better. Haha.

This is the Cheese Baked Rice. The top portion is a thick layer of yummy cheese. The cheese, after it's baked, smells so niceeeeee.......

Uiyooo...... Cheesy cheesy...... Keke

Food Review : Tao Kae Noi

Been sometime since i blog on food. So, lemme introduce you to a rather "new" brand of junky food called Tao Kae Noi. Heard of it?

Namely as "Japanese Crispy Seaweed" but its actually from Thailand. You`ll like it if you like to eat seaweed. This seaweed from this brand taste really nice. Very crispy and unlike those normal seaweed, this seaweed from TKN very long 1.

They have variaty of flavour. From the normal and original to Wasabi, Tomato, Tom Yam and lots more. I was looking for it long enough and found it at Popular. Haha...

Without any hesitation, I grabbed 2 packets which are the original and tomato flavour. Was looking for the tempura flavour but guess its not in Malaysia yet.

The original flavor

Tomato flavor

From the inside

The tasty seaweed.

If you like seaweed, faster go and buy 1 and taste for urself. Really yummy 1...If im not mistaken bout the price, its RM 2.90 (small packet) and RM 5.90 (big packet) .

The day I saw Raymond Lam

Woofy brought me to 1U on the 24th of June during our trip down KL last month. Geez, it took Woofy almost 1 hour just to find a parking space. Bad bad luck. Ish...It was my first time looking for a parking space for that long. OMG.

After we found a parking space and quickly went for our brunch at Burger King. Then, I asked Woofy to bring me to see pet located at there lor.
Soon after that, we go jalan jalan around when we heard someone singing 'Billy Jean' and then foolowed by "Ting Ting" sound. Immediately hearing that, I remember that the Minutes To Fame show aka 殘酷一叮 are in town for the Malaysian leg.

Then, I dragged Woofy to watch with me and among see people head, I catch a glimpse of Raymond Lam (林峯) and the others such as Joey Leung (梁榮忠), MyFM`s DJ Vivian Tok (卓卉勤) and also a taiwanese artist 金剛.

The above pictures was very blury coz was taken with a camera phone. Dun mind laa hor? Hee hee...
