Seen this before?

Anyone out there seen this stuff before? Look carefully. If you think, its normal Panadol. Than you`re wrong.Let me tell you why.

In Malaysia, all we know that Panadol or Paracetamol came in tablets form but in other places like Hong Kong, they came in powder form AND they came with flavoring too. Surprised, eh?

This are the Panadol that my uncle bought back when he was holidaying in Hong Kong. Never seen this stuff over here before.

How to consume the Panadol? All you need it to drink it. Yeah, not swallow it. Easy peasy and the taste, very yummy too. Hee hee. I don`t know bout the taste but my grandpa told me that. =P

Open the packet of the Panadol. Then, pour them into the glass.

Pour in water.

And, viola...The drink`s ready to be consumed.

* Sorry for blurry pictures ya. Took using phone`s camera only.*

Magic

Do anyone of you guys believe in Magic? Well, for me, sometimes i do and sometimes i don`t but mostly i do. =) Although, how the magician do it, may it be illusion or some kind of trick, im still very impress with the way they did it and admire their talent.

I stumble upon this show called "Mondo Magic" on AXN,Astro last night. The magician are not as famous as David Copperfield or David Blaine but their skills are very impressive as well.

That makes me think : Who started this thing called Magic? How does it started? What is magic all about? Thus, again, i "asked" Google bout it.

Magic is a use of supernatural powers that can form illusion to human eyes, or to influence something.

This is what i found:

I quote them from Wikipedia :

The term "Magic" is etymologically derived from the Old Persian word Magi. Performances we would now recognize as conjuring have probably been practiced throughout history. The same level of ingenuity that was used to produce famous ancient deceptions such as the Trojan_Horsewould also have been used for Entertainment, or at least for cheating in gambling, since time immemorial. However, the profession of the illusionist gained strength only in 18th century, and has enjoyed several popular vogues. Successful magicians have become some of the most famous Celebrity in popular entertainment........*Click here to learn more*

Bon Odori

Last weekend, we went to Bon Odori festival at Esplanade after our dinner. Many people might know about Bon Odori, but do you know the real meaning behind the festival?

This is the story of Bon Odori:
Bon Odori originates from the story of Mokuren, a disciple of Shakyamuni, who saw a vision of his deceased mother in the Realm of Hungry Ghosts where she was indulging in her own selfishness. Greatly disturbed, he went to the Buddha and asked how he could release his mother from this realm. Buddha answered, "On July 15, provide a big feast for the past seven generations of dead." The disciple did this and, thus, saw his mother's release. He also began to see the true nature of her past unselfishness and the many sacrifices that she had made for him. The disciple, happy because of his mother's release and grateful for his mother's kindness, danced with joy. From this dance of joy comes Bon Odori or "Bon Dance", a time in which ancestors and their sacrifices are remembered and appreciated.

Anyway back to topic. The event on that day started at 6.30pm, but due to rain, we only step into the venue at around 8.30pm. At that time, the rain had stopped, but the field was still abit wet and we had to be very cautious when wakling around. The first thing that attract us was the center stage. It was well decorated with lightings, with a group of dancers performing Japansese traditional dance.

Then, we walked around and visit the stalls and booths there. The stalls there are minly food stalls, and surprisingly, we saw Canon and Maxis booth too. Hmm... Perhaps there are some potential customers too? Hehe... Then, we came to this booth, in which the gold fish catching activity was held.

At the time when we reached the booth, the gold fish already almost finished being caught, and left this kiddo above catching the remaining few gold fish. After 5 minutes.....

...

...

...

...

Still didn't manage to catch all the remaining gold fish. And finally the person in charge beh tong already, and he helped the kiddo to catch all the remaining fish. Keke...

Not long later, an announcement was made that the fireworks show will start earlier than scheduled due to the weather. We waited for some time, and finally the fireworks began! Whee.......

The firework lasted for around 10 minutes, and after the fireworks ended, we leave the venue, went to the mamak stall and have our supper, hehe....

Pirate Master

I watched this reality show called the "Pirate Master" last Tuesday which was their premier show on Astro channel 17 at 9pm. If you watched "Survivor" before, you`ll find that the concept are almost if not identical.

This is because, "Pirate Master" is a show created by Mark Burnett who is also the creator of the popular reality show "Survivor".

This show goes like this....

Each week, the contestants are divided into two crews, Black and Red, to hunt for the treasure indicated by the maps and clues obtained from the most recently opened compartment on the Chest of Zanzibar.

Both crews simultaneously go on expeditions and decipher clues along the way to find gold coins hidden around the island of Dominica. During the expedition, there is the potential for the currently leading crew (based on the trailing member of the team) to "sabotage" the other crew at a given point and slow them down in the hunt, such as by causing a net to fall to block passage along a river.

The first crew to successfully retrieve the treasure, even if another crew arrived and started searching first, wins the treasure, and indicates their victory by firing a pistol to let the other crew know that the expedition is over.

At the end of each episode, there is a Pirates' Court. Prior to this Court's proceedings, the Captain distributes letters, three of which contain a black ink blot also called as the black spot. The three contestants marked with a "black spot" are the ones nominated to be voted off and cannot take part in the voting process that follows; the Captain and his officers are not allowed to vote either. The remaining crew members then cast their votes by impaling their ballots on an upturned dagger. The contestant with the most votes is then "cut adrift" also known as being voted off.

~~The info above are taken at here~~ To find out more bout the show, pay them a visit. Hee hee.

Overall, its not bad for the 1st show. Kinda interesting. Im not sure bout the repeat time but I do know that the show aired every Tuesday at 9pm at AXN channel 17. Gees, makes me miss those days where I followed the "Survivor" weekly. Its my favourite show during those times.

New York = Big Apple

Ever wonder why some people called New York as the Big Apple? Ever wonder whats the reason behind it?

Well, I do. I dunno why but lately I`ve been this kinda thingy. For example, why 7-11? and now this. As usual, I ask Woofy and he gave me the same answer " Go search at Google" . Ish...So lazy...=.=

So, here I am again. Searching at Google for the topic and this is what I get.

According to this website, beside being called as the "Big Apple", New York is also called as "Gotham". Anyway, stick to the topic.

The "Big Apple" was given by this guy called John Fitzgerald who is a horse-racing columnist back in 1920s. Apparently, Fitzgerald heard the term from stable hands in New Orleans who lovingly referred to New York City's racetracks as "...the dream of every lad that ever threw a leg over a thoroughbred. There's only one Big Apple. That's New York." and n the 1930s, the term was adopted by jazz musicians, when Harlem was the site of all the choicest gigs. ( this source I get it from here.)

Conclusion, I still dun have the clear answer on why New York is called the "Big Apple". Can someone tell me the main reason behind it?

7-11

I aked Woofy and my mama this question yesterday nite : "Ny(this is what i call Woofy, Heehee) , why they named 7-11 as 7-11 geh? Got special meaning?" and to my mama " Mama, y 7-11? Kenot other names 1 meh?" then Woofy answered me " Go search at Google laa.." and my mama " How i know? Find out urself laa"

Cheh...ask them but no answer...So, I go searched at Google for 7-11 and i got this....Hee hee...

Apparently, it was known as Tote'm then they changed the name to 7-11 because was to reflect the stores' new, extended hours - 7 a.m. until 11 p.m., seven days a week.

O.o That the meaning of 7-11 but why they open the store 24 hours instead of 7am to 11pm? Izzit in Malaysia only operate for 24 hours? Hmmmm.....

But anyway, now i know the meaning d....If interested, take a look here. ^0^

Are you a Mach person?

Hmmm...What is the Mach thingy? No, its not a person name...Its just a term that i learnt from my Management class today under the chapter of Organization Behavior.

Mach here is stands for Machiavellianism. According to Wikipedia, Machiavellianism is primarily the term some social and personality psychologist use to describe a person's tendency to deceive and manipulate others for personal gain.

This is a bad behavior. I dun think people should have this behavior in them. But who cares right, this is the reality. Its a "dogs eat dogs" world out there. *sigh*
